Nasopharyngeal Nose Surgery

Nasopharyngeal nose surgery can remove a tumor or straighten the nose (rhinoplasty). It’s also done to correct nasal defects such as a deviated septum, which occurs when one or both of the nasal passageways are off to one side. This condition may lead to difficulty breathing through the nose. A surgeon may make incisions inside the nose to correct the problem by trimming, centering or replacing cartilage and bone. They can also use small strips of cartilage called spreader grafts to help reposition the nose bones.

During the operation, you will receive medicine to keep you from feeling pain, called anesthesia. This can be local anesthesia limited to your nose tissues or general anesthesia that affects your entire body. The type of anesthesia used depends on the complexity of your surgery and your doctor’s preference.부산코수술

Before the operation, your doctor will take a medical history and complete a physical exam. You will need to bring a list of your medications.부산수면다원검사

The surgery is usually an outpatient procedure. People who have endoscopic nasopharyngeal resection or nasopharyngeal lymph node dissection can go home the same day. People who have open nasopharyngeal surgery may stay in the hospital for a few days to recover. While you are recovering, rest with your head elevated higher than your chest to reduce swelling and bleeding. Avoid activities that require you to bend over or exert yourself. It’s important to eat high-fiber foods to prevent constipation, which can put pressure on the nasal incision site.
